The Civil Engineering students of SRKREC secured first place at national level AICTE Chattra Vishwa Karma Award 2020 by designing the shramik web portal. The final year students V Tridesh, K Bhargavi, Shyam Kiran, K Chandrika, S Kranti, K Suryakamal, K Puneeth designed Shramik.in website with the help of mentor Assistant Professor of Civil Department Mr. Raju Penupothula.
Out of the 1400 entries from all over India, SRKREC team secured first prize and received a cash award of Rs.51,000/- from union minister of education Dharmendra Pradhan and AICTE chairman Sahasrabuddhe on 5th September 2020 at New Delhi. The Civil Department has felicitated the mentor and his team for their achievement on 9th September on campus. The mentor P Raju said that the details of skilled labour could be found in the portal and in the case of natural disasters, they could be traced and helped. The portal is also useful for the construction industry.

The campus magazine of SRKREC named Campus Chronicle has been launched officially by the college management here on campus. The Campus Chronicle magazine will publish all the achievements, activities and happenings of the campus every 4 months. The college committee President Sri Sagi Prasada Raju garu, Vice Presidents Sri P Krishnam Raju garu, Sri Gokaraju Ramaraju garu, Secretary & Correspondent Sri S.V. Rangaraju garu, Governing Body Member Dr. K.S. Vijaya Narasimha Raju garu, CEO Sri S.R.K. Nishant garu, Principal Dr. Jagapathi Raju garu, and others were present on this occasion.
SRKREC alumni students introduced a special GiTA (Girls in Technology Advancement) scholarship with an inital fund of 10 lakh rupees. A group of 17 girl students who completed engineering in SRKREC from 1984 to 1987 batches has raised this fund in the memory of late beloved women faculty Gita Raj. As part of this scholarship, every year, two girl students - one from Civil Engineering and one from ECE branch would get scholarship worth Rs.25,000/-. For the year 2021, 2/4 Civil student Aregela Jyothirmayee and ECE student Ivvala Kiramnayee received the scholarships.
College secretary and correspondent Sri SV Ranga Raju garu, Alumni Association CFO Dr. VK Viswanadharaju garu, HODs of ECE and Civil Deparments and other faculty were present during the occasion.
G Nagaraju, Assistant Professor of ECE Department has been awarded with PhD from KL University for his thesis titled "An optimised secure hybrid watermarking in medical imaging" under the supervision of Dr. P Pardhasaradhi, Professor in ECE, KL University.

AICTE has sanctioned two new courses in SRKREC from the academic year 2021-22 along with the 2 additional branches sanctioned last year.
1. B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning
2. B.Tech in Computer Science & Design
Keeping in view the importance of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Industry 4.0 technologies, AICTE has recommended these new advanced branches / courses in reputed engineering colleges throughout the country. Last year, 2 new courses in B.Tech - Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (AI & DS) and Computer Science & Business Systems (CSBS) has been introduced in SRKREC.
