Chemistry Department conferred as Research Centre by JNTUK

The Department of Engineering Chemistry at SRKR Engg College has been conferred with the 'Research Centre' status by the JNTUK. The official proceedings of the same were released by the college management yesterday. Speaking on this occasion, Principal of SRKREC Dr. M. Jagapathi Raju had said that under the National Educational Policy, multidisciplinary studies are given more importance and research centres play a vital role in the promotion of the same. HOD of Engg Chemistry Department Dr. P. Bhavani had said that the faculty in the department are having rich academic and research experience and had published 179 research papers in various reputed journals and conferences. Until now, 8 research projects are also completed by the department. Majority of the faculty in the department had completed their PhD and all the facilities are being provided in the department for the scholars to pursue their research. She urged the scholars to make use of the same and promote research. College President Sri. S. Prasada Raju, Secretary cum Correspondent Sri. SRK Nishanth Varma and Principal Dr. M. Jagapathi Raju had congratulated the team of Chemistry Department for achieving this novel status. Faculty of the Chemistry Dept Dr. Chandrasekhar, Dr. Diwakar, Dr. Nagababu, Dr. Kishore, J. Suresh Kumar, Ms. Balageetha, Ms. KT Bhavani also took part in this programme.

Placement Day Celebrated

Placement Day Celebrations were held in a grand manner at SRKR Engg College on 08-06-22. Speaking on this occasion Secretary cum Correspondent of SRKREC Sri. SRK Nishanth Varma had said that in this academic year 1157 students had got 2642 offers from various prominent companies across the globe. The college had achieved a novel position in the entire state of AP in terms of placements. The management had celebrated this achievement in the presence of placed students and their parents. Sri. Nishanth Varma had said that students had got highest package worth Rs. 47.2 LPA and some of the companies are also providing internships to the students with a stipend of Rs. 80000 per month. Principal of SRKR Dr. M. Jagapathi Raju had said that in spite of Covid, the students had excelled in placements with their hard work, passion and support from the management. Placement Dean Dr. Satyanarayana had said that the management had taken all the necessary measures to provide the students with the latest training, which had played a key role in achieving large number of placements. President Sri. Prasada Raju, Secretary cum Correspondent Sri. Nishanth Varma and Director Sri. Jeevasagar had congratulated the placement team and principal for this novel achievement.

World Environment Day Celebrated

The World Environment Day Celebrations were conducted in a grand manner at SRKR in collaboration with the Women Empowerment Cell. Sri. Sivaramakrishna, Commissioner of Bhimavaram Municipality attended this event as a chief guest. Speaking on this occasion he called the students to plant saplings in large numbers in order to protect the mother earth. The guest of Honor for this vent was Dr. Vijaya, Gynaecologist at Bhimavaram Hospitals. She said that earth had lost up to 60% fertility until now, and if we don’t step in to preserve the environment, then we will be facing food crisis in the future. Principal of SRKREC Dr. M. Jagapathi Raju had said that the students of SRKR will play a vital role in the restoration of the Yanamadurru drain. HOD of English Dept Dr. Lakshmi and Coordinator of Women Empowerment Cell Dr. Bhuvaneshwari had said that many competitions were conducted to the students on the eve of World Environment Day and the prizes were distributed to the winners. Exhibition of organic plants by Mr. Seetharamaraju stood as the special attraction in this programme. Dr. P. Bhavani, Roopajhansi etc. had took part in this occasion.

SRKREC Wins FIT INDIA Challenge

SRKR Engineering College emerged as the winners in the 'FIT INDIA' Challenge conducted by AICTE last year. AICTE has issued a letter in this regard and the same was handed over to Principal Dr. M. Jagapathi Raju by Dr. Bhavani Head of Chemistry Dept and organizer of Fit India Challenge. Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Bhavani had said that as per the vision of our PM Sri. Narendra Modi, AICTE had requested the educational institutes across the country to conduct this challenge in order to increase the physical and mental strength of the students. SRKR had conducted this challenge with 1500 students in collaboration with PAIE (People Association for Inner Engineering) Cell, NSS Unit and Physical Education Dept. AICTE after scrutinizing the videos of hundreds of colleges across the country, SRKR was declared as the winner in Category III. College President Sri. Prasada Raju, Secretary & Correspondent Sri. Nishanth Varma had congratulated the staff and the students for bringing laurels to the institute. Dr. Satyanarayana Raju, Dr. Venkatapathi Raju, Prasada Raju and Ramesh Raju also participated in this occasion.

Valedictory Function of Shuttle Coaching Camp

The shuttle coaching camp at SRKR which was being conducted for the last 45 days has ended on 31st May, 2022. This was organized in collaboration with Women Empowerment Cell, NSS Unit and Physical Education Dept. Speaking on this occasion, Principal Dr. M. Jagapathi Raju had said that students can reduce their mental tensions and emerge victorious by taking part in various sports. He said that the management is planning to provide better sports infrastructure to the students and je urged the students to keep up the name of the college in sports arena too along with the academic arena. Women Empowerment Cell Coordinator Dr. Bhuvaneshwari and NSS Coordinator Mr. Prasada Raju had said that there was huge response from the students towards this camp. Head of English Dept Dr. Lakshmi, Coach Dr. Kirankumar Varma, Vidyasagar and Physical Directors G. Harimohan and Ms. Sarika also took part in this programme.
