Learning foreign languages is the need of the hour. Keeping in view the fact that competency in foreign languages helps students gain better career opportunities, Centre for foreign languages at SRKREC started providing online training for German, Spanish and French. The response from the students is overwhelming, more than 50 students have registered for German Level 1, 46 students have finished French Level 1 and 15 students cleared their Spanish Level 1 certification. The training covers all the four-fold skills of language, i.e., listening, speaking, reading and writing. The students have kept the pace with the trainer and learnt the concepts well. As part of their assignment, the students have made a few videos on Youtube where they are seen giving self-introduction in French and Spanish. The performance of the students in the target language is quite impressive and their videos on Youtube are the real stimulus that triggers interest in other students to learn these languages. A few more languages like Japanese and Korean will also be available soon.
