National Level Workshop of EEE Dept ‘APOORVA-23’ was inaugurated at SRKR Engg College. This
workshop is being held in collaboration with the alumni of the dept. DRDO Scientist and Alumni of
SRKR Dr. BV Ravikumar had inaugurated the same. Speaking on this occasion, he said that India had
developed massively in the areas of science and technology and started exporting defence
equipment’s to foreign countries. 80% of the India’s defence equipment were manufactured in India
and this was due to ‘Make In India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. At the time of Covid DRDO developed
D2G Drug which had showed abnormal results and saved the lives of many people. He advised the
students to give importance to core groups and do intensive research in those areas. He had
released the souvenir of the EEE Dept. He was being felicitated by the Vice President of SRKR, Sri. SV
Ranga Raju, Principal Dr. M. Jagapathi Raju. HOD of EEE Dr. Varma, Alumni Association Coordinator
Dr. VK. Viswanadha Raju, Dr. G. Harish Kumar Varma took part in this occasion.
An awareness session was conducted by SEB at SRKR on the critical effects of usage of drugs.
Speaking on this occasion District ASP (SEB) Sri. ATV Ravi Kumar said that it was the duty of the
youth to make the state drug free and the role of the youth should be responsible. It is through
drugs that we spoil our own lives and hence youth should bring to the notice of the officials if any of
their friends have the habit of drugs. Principal of SRKR, Dr. M. Jagapathi Raju, HOD of CSE Dr.
Chandrasekhar took part in this occasion.
A workshop on emerging technologies was conducted at SRKR by Dr. Prabhakar Rao, Visiting
Scientist at IISC, Centre for Nano Science and Engineering. He said that because of the Ukraine war
electronics industry was facing lot of struggle as Ukraine was the chief supplier of microchips in the
world. Entire world was trying to make microchips and US is the forerunner in this race and India is
giving lots of incentives for the manufacturing of microchips. Hence he suggested that all the IITs
should encourage research on microchips. Principal Dr. Ma. Jagapathi Raju had said that in the new
education policy, students should not get limited to books and should always make sure that they
are aware on the latest emerging technologies. Dr. Prabhakar Rao was grandly felicitated by the
management of the college. HOD of ECE Dr. Uday Kumar was present on this occasion.
A workshop was conducted on ‘Aims & Objectives of UBA’ at SRKR College for the districts of Eluru
and West Godavari where around coordinators from 30 colleges had participated. UBA Coordinator
of Andhra University B. Pavani had graced this occasion. She said that students should use their
intellectual capabilities and make sure that rural places are developed on par with the urban places.
Every college should adopt 5 villages and make sure that water, cleanliness and elimination of plastic
takes place. Principal of SRKR, Dr. M. Jagapathi Raju had said that SRKR had adopted 5 villages and is
making sure that the developmental activities in that villages are happening well. Certificates had
been distributed to the coordinators of various colleges. Vice President of SRKR Sri. SV Ranga Raju,
UBA Coordinator Dr. PARK Raju, R. Subbarao, V. Ramaraju, T. Rambabu took part in this occasion.
SRKR Engg College had entered into an MOU with DRIVEDOCK, a start-up that was initiated by the
alumni of SRKR Mechanical Engg Dept Mr. Deepu Saladi. The documents relating to the same were
exchanged by Principal Dr. M. Jagapathi Raju and Company representative Mr. S. Sudhakara Raju.
Speaking on this occasion, HOD of ME Dr. Brahma Raju had said that Deepu used to be very active in
Automotive Club and though he was working in Germany, he started his start-up at Mallikipuram
and now the second branch at SRKR. In this branch, repair of batteries, recycling of dry batteries and
manufacturing of Go-Karts will take place. Mechanical students will also be provided with
internships. Technology Centre Head Dr. N. Gopalakrishna Murthy, Drive Dock Sales Rep Ms. Lasya,
Mechanical Engg Dept Assistant Professor Mr. V. Muralikrishnam Raju took part in this event.
