SRKR Civil Students have visited Polavaram Project on Sunday under the leadership of CIVIL HOD Dr.
Prasad, as per the suggestions of Principal Dr. M. Jagapathi Raju. Speaking on this occasion, the
students have said that the Project is the pride of the country, they have observed various new
technologies and phases that the project is undergoing and they feel that visiting such projects
would be very helpful in their academic career. Principal had said that the students of SRKR visit the
project every year so that they get to know the practical applications and insights. Faculty of Civil
Dept also accompanied the students in this visit.
Mrs. G. Sarika, Asst PD of SRKR Engg College had got 1 st Place in the National Level Yoga Championship held at Narsapuram in the category of 30-35 years of age. She was being felicitated in the campus by Principal Dr. M. Jagapathi Raju and PD Dr. Satyanarayana Raju. Principal had said that she should train the students also in yoga and make sure that they maintain their work life balance.
SRKR had entered an MOU with Vasavi Women’s Club, Vijayawada. The documents have been exchanged between Club Secretary PD Rashmi, Principal Dr. M. Jagapathi Raju and Women Empowerment Cell Coordinator Dr. Bhuvaneshwari. Speaking on this occasion the Principal had said that SRKR is committed to Women Empowerment and various activities regarding this are already being done in association with various clubs and NGOs. Dr. Bhuvaneshwari had said that as per this MOU SRKR will give assistance in bringing awareness among women and supporting them technically for a span of 5 years. Prominent Doctor Dr. Samaram, CSE Associate Professor Dr. Sirisha, Inner Wheel Secretary Mrs. Sridevi took part in this occasion.
Freedom Fest was being conducted at SRKR Engg College by Swecha Foundation for 2 days. Speaking on this occasion, Principal Dr. M. Jagapathi Raju had said that new technologies are emerging every day and so the students should update themselves as per the technologies. Swecha Foundation representatives had trained the students on 11 latest technologies. 450 students across Bhimavaram from various other colleges also participated in this workshop. Swecha Foundation representatives suggested the students to visit rural places and update the students there on latest technologies. CSE HOD Dr. Chandrasekhar, CSD HOD Dr. Suresh Babu, Technology Centre Head Dr. Gopalakrishna Murthy, Swecha Foundation representatives Sripathy Rai, Lakshman, Nagaraju, Rupesh took part in this event.
A workshop on ‘Gender Sensitization and Emotional Health’ was conducted at SRKR by the Women Empowerment Cell. Prominent Doctor and Social Activist Dr. Samaram attended the same as the
chief guest. Speaking on this occasion, he said that Women Empowerment Teams should make sure that the Women are active. He said that it is very sad to see various attacks on women. Raja Ram Mohan Roy and Kandukuri Viresalingam contribution should not be forgotten. Principal of SRKR, Dr. M. Jagapathi Raju had said that in the total placements of the institution, girls play a major role and the institute is fully giving support to women empowerment. The chief guest is being felicitated by the management. took part in this event.
