International Conference on Advanced Artificial Intelligence at SRKR Engineering College

Bhimavaram, December 2: SRKR Engineering College is hosting an International Conference on "Algorithms in Advanced Artificial Intelligence" (ICAA-2024) on the 4th, 5th, and 6th of December. The conference is organized under the auspices of the Computer Science and Engineering Department and is being held at the college for the second time at an international level. Dr. BHVS, Head of the Computer Science and Engineering Department, along with General Chairs Dr. Ramakrishnan Raju and Dr. V. Chandrasekhar, shared the details of the conference with the media on Monday. The event will feature a distinguished lineup of speakers, including Dr. Zarina Mohammed Anapi from Malaysia, Judi Prestio, Founder of RoboTech X Lab from Dubai, Dr. Budharaju Raja Rao from Varacle Corporate, USA, Prakash Murugesan from Texas, MV Panduranga Rao from IIT Hyderabad, Dr. Pradeep Singh from NIT Raipur, and Dr. KV Kadambari from NIT Warangal. The conference will bring together experts and researchers from renowned institutes such as IITs and NITs across India. Dr. RNV Jaganmohan is serving as the convener of the event, with TVKP Prasad as the co-convener. The conference aims to promote discussions on cutting-edge developments in the field of Artificial Intelligence and provide a platform for knowledge exchange among global experts and participants.

Online FDP Program on "Empowering Educators for Faculty Excellence"

Bhimavaram: SRKR Engineering College’s Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department is conducting an online Faculty Development Program (FDP) from November 28 to December 9-14. The program is being organized under the auspices of the AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy. College Principal, Dr. KV Muralikrishnamraju, announced the event and emphasized the importance of this FDP in empowering educators to enhance their skills and knowledge of new technologies. The program aims to support engineering faculty and researchers in their professional development and to explore the latest trends in the field. The poster for the event was officially released by College Director, Dr. M. Jagapathi Raju. Dr. BHVS, Head of the Computer Science and Engineering Department, serves as the program convener, while Dr. NK Kameswara Rao and Dr. Siva Shankar Reddy are acting as the coordinators. This six-day program is designed to offer valuable insights and training to faculty members to help them excel in their teaching methodologies and adopt new educational technologies. All engineering faculty and researchers are encouraged to participate and make the most of this opportunity.

SRKR Engineering College Partners with NASCOM Foundation to Foster Innovation and Start-ups

Bhimavaram: SRKR Engineering College has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the NASCOM Foundation to provide technical assistance in transforming innovative ideas from students into practical solutions. The MoU was officially exchanged between NASCOM Foundation Innovation Manager, Albert Dylan Correa, and the College In-charge Principal, BHPS Ramakrishnan Raju, on Thursday. The collaboration aims to enhance creativity and bring high-level research ideas into tangible outcomes, enabling students to develop start-ups. The initiative will also offer valuable guidance and support for student programs, including Hackathons, providing an opportunity for students to receive mentorship and refine their innovative ideas. College Director, M Jagapathiraju, expressed that this partnership will play a pivotal role in promoting creativity among students and helping them shape their innovative concepts into viable business ventures. Also present at the MoU exchange were College Dean of Academics, V Chandrasekhar, and College Corporate Relations Manager, Ashok Reddy, who participated as witnesses to this milestone event. This collaboration is set to nurture a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship at SRKR Engineering College, providing students with the tools and guidance needed to succeed in their entrepreneurial endeavors.

"Spellbee" (Online Spelling Bee Challenge) Contest at SRKR

The CSD and CSIT students of SRKR Engineering College showcased the spelling prowess of the student community through a three-round contest developed using custom software. Over 1000 students participated in the competition, which was conducted across various stalls on campus. From this pool of participants, 10 winners were selected. The winners were awarded prizes worth ₹25,000, including smartwatches, VR headsets, and headphones. The awards were presented by the college director, Dr. M. Jagapathi Raju. Tamma Jayaramaraju, who announced the first prize winner, also crowned the "Spellbee Champion 2024." Second to fifth place winners received Jio Dive VR Kits, while the sixth to tenth place winners were awarded Jibronics headsets. The competition was a joint effort between the CSD, CSIT, and English Departments. The event was graced by In-charge Principal Dr. BHVS Ramakrishnamraju, Idea Lab Head Nukala Gopalakrishnamurthy, CSD Program Coordinator Mudunuri Suresh Babu, English and Foreign Languages Head Dr. BHVN Lakshmi, and faculty members from the English Department.

ISRO Scientist Inspires Engineering Students at SRKR Engineering College

In an inspiring session at SRKR Engineering College, ISRO Scientist Remalla Murthy, from the Human Space Flight Group, encouraged engineering students to pursue careers in space research and contribute to the nation's progress. Speaking to the students of Engineering Physics and Chemistry on Saturday, Murthy emphasized that the future of the country lies in the hands of science and engineering students. He urged them to draw inspiration from the achievements of ISRO, from the launch of Aryabhata to the success of the Chandrayaan and Gaganyaan missions. Murthy highlighted the growing importance of scientific research in areas such as transport, water resources management, disaster preparedness, and telemedicine. He encouraged students to think innovatively and focus on advancing these fields in the future. MV Someswara Rao, Head of the Department of Engineering Physics, expressed that such sessions would stimulate inquisitive thinking and inspire students to explore the vast opportunities in science and engineering. The event concluded with a special ceremony where ISRO Scientist Remalla Murthy was honored by the college. The program was attended by Senior Professor of Physics, Ramanamurthy, P. Bhavani (Head of Engineering Chemistry), Venureddy (Head of Nano Technology), and other faculty members, who participated in the celebration of this inspiring occasion.
