Engineering students advised to undertake research projects

The SRKR Engineering College's IETE student wing recently organized a hardware exhibition titled 'CRUX-2K25' under the aegis of the ECE department. The event featured around 50 projects presented by approximately 200 students, showcasing innovative technologies such as solar systems, robots, and soil testing equipment. The exhibition was attended by students from neighboring schools and villages, providing them with valuable exposure to cutting-edge technology. The event was inaugurated by Director Dr. M Jagapati Raju and Principal Dr. KV Muralikrishnam Raju, who encouraged students to undertake research projects that could benefit society and enhance their personal growth. The exhibition has been a recurring event for the past few years, helping students secure good employment opportunities.

SRKR Faculty Honored for Outstanding Academic Achievements

SRKR Engineering College proudly celebrated the remarkable accomplishments of its faculty members who recently earned their doctoral degrees in diverse fields. Dr. Madhav Rao, Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department, received his PhD from Andhra University for his research on “Experimental Investigation on Mechanical and Machinability Behavior of Aluminum Hybrid Metal Matrix Composite,” under the guidance of Dr. VVS Kesavarao. The felicitation ceremony, graced by Vice President S.V. Rangaraju and Principal Dr. KV Murali Krishnaraju, acknowledged Dr. Rao’s contribution to enhancing machine efficiency and mechanical research. In another proud moment, Assistant Professor Avantha Venkata Soma Sundar was honored for receiving his PhD from KL Deemed University for his work on “Algorithm Development for Robotic Path Planning and Motion in Automatic Welding,” supervised by Dr. G. Edukondalu. The event also recognized Dr. Swati Samanthapudi from the ECE Department, who earned her PhD from Nirwan University, Punjab, for her thesis on “Design and Implementation of Efficient and Logic Unit using FinFET Technology.” She expressed heartfelt thanks to her guides Prof. Nirmal Sharma and Dr. Neeraja. These achievements highlight SRKR's unwavering dedication to academic excellence and faculty advancement.

Organic Farming Suggested for Best Results in Horticulture

SRKR Engineering College Director Dr. M Jagapati Raju emphasized the benefits of organic farming in horticulture, stating it as the best choice for gaining better profits. The college, as part of the Unnata Bharat Abhiyaan (UBA) program, adopted several villages to implement organic farming practices. Under the supervision of College UBA coordinator Dr. T Rambabu, a papaya field was developed in Mogallu village using organic farming methods, yielding sizable produce. Dr. Raju suggested widening the bunds of fields for better results in horticulture and highlighted the market potential of organic papaya due to its taste and lack of pesticides.

Adoption of AI and New Technologies in Civil Engineering

The Deputy Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Undi MLA Kanumuri Raghuramakrishnam Raju, emphasized the need for civil engineers to adopt artificial intelligence and advanced technologies for nation-building during a five-day training program on "The Application of Geosynthetics in Road Infrastructure Projects" held at SRKR Engineering College. The training, sponsored by the Ministry of Textiles, the National Technical Textile Mission (NTTM), and the Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI), New Delhi, was attended by various dignitaries, including CSIR-CRRI Chief Scientist and Project Leader Dr. PS Prasad and Principal Scientist Dr. Bharat. The Deputy Speaker highlighted the importance of geosynthetic construction for durable infrastructure and urged the college management to strive for deemed university status for the institution. The event was presided over by the college's R&D Dean Dr. T Vamsi Nagaraju, and other notable attendees included College Secretary and Correspondent SRK Nishant Varma, Director Dr. M Jagapati Raju, and others.

Civil Engg helps country to develop infrastructure: Expert

"Five-Day National Workshop on Geo-Synthetics in Road Infrastructure Held at SRKR Engineering College" The Department of Civil Engineering at SRKR Engineering College, Bhimavaram, organized a five-day national-level training programme on “Application of Geo Synthetics in Road Infrastructure Projects”. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Manoranjan Parida, Director of the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI), New Delhi. He emphasized the vital role civil engineering plays in national infrastructure development and urged students to focus on in-depth research and training in synthetic road construction technologies. In his address, Dr. Parida encouraged civil engineering students to explore internship opportunities and recommended that faculty members visit the CRRI Centre in New Delhi for exposure to cutting-edge research facilities. Around 120 students participated in this hands-on workshop aimed at equipping them with practical knowledge of infrastructure innovation. The event saw the presence of distinguished guests including R&D Dean Dr. T. Vamsi Nagaraju, Dr. P.S. Prasad, Dr. Bharat, Dr. Kanwar Singh, and Dr. Kaita Ravindran. Key officials from SRKR, including Director Dr. M. Jagapathi Raju, Principal Dr. K.V. Muralikrishnamraju, and Civil Engineering Head Dr. Sri Balaji, also addressed the gathering.This initiative underscores SRKR Engineering College’s commitment to preparing students for real-world challenges in infrastructure and civil engineering through collaboration with national research bodies and industry experts.
