DEPARTMENT OF ENGINEERING PHYSICS
Established at the very inception of the college in 1980, the Department of Physics has been on its path truly meeting its objective to orient and train the students towards fundamental knowledge of Physics needed for the future technological advances. The Physics is the scientific base on which higher technical education should build a general engineering and special training. Keeping in view that an in-depth study of the foundations of physics is the most justified and economic form of knowledge and skills needed today, the well-experienced faculty of the dept. strive to instil a continuous scientific and technological temperament in the young engineering minds.
The Department is well-equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and laboratories. The faculty always strive to update and upgrade the curriculum and conduct regular training programs for the technical staff, awareness programs and value addition courses for the interested students on selected topics. The faculty have authored books on Engineering Physics, Materials Science and Laboratory manuals which are well-received and appreciated. In addition to the regular academic work, the faculty take care of the matters related to IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell), minority students, Internal Complaint Cell, Anti Ragging activities, and the discipline of students.
The Department of Physics has well qualified faculty in which eight faculty members are having Ph.Ds. and four members qualified in APSET/NET. In addition to this department of Physics was recognized as Research Centre by JNTUK in the year 2023. Recently JNTUK has allotted three Research Scholars to our Research Centre from Academic year 2023-24.
