Indian Society for Technical Education is a national professional society registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. First started in 1941 as the Association of Principals of Technical Institutions (APTI), it was later converted into the "Indian Society for Technical Education" in 1968 with a view to enlarging its activities to advance the cause of technological education. The major objective of the ISTE is to assist and contribute to the endowment and development of top-quality professional engineers.
In our Sagi Rama Krishnam Raju Engineering College (SRKREC), Student Chapter of the ISTE is a cross-departmental student body organization that has had the legacy of furnishing the finest professional engineers into the society since 1995. It works with the motto of developing the personalities and careers of thriving engineering students.
Education, professional skills, and managerial skills are three essential elements for a student to be successful in this corporate world. While the SRKREC takes care of education and encourages all its students to develop their professional and managerial skills, the SRKR-ISTE takes care of creating a resourceful platform for the students to enrich those skills, which are vital in their careers. This is achieved by providing the students with the opportunity to join the executive body, through which they become the heart of SRKR-ISTE, undertake its responsibilities, and execute its objectives. Being in the executive body, the students create a platform for themselves to sharpen their professional and managerial skills while also creating a platform for all the college students where they can overcome their fears and excel in their skills, as well as attain great exposure in the college.
An ISTE student body organization is given the Best Student Chapter Award if it is successful in organizing a greater number of beneficial events that helped students grow themselves while taking into account all ISTE student body organizations in A.P.
SRKR-ISTE operates within the college and creates a positive impact on the campus by organizing numerous events and technical symposiums. Every event is aimed at developing a specific skill set in college students, which is achieved through participation.
Not only inside the college, but SRKR-ISTE also organizes a social welfare program called SAHARA outside the college with the aspiration of contributing its best to creating a better society, such as supporting the better living of orphanages or old age homes, providing the schools with enlightenment on different aspects of society such as good citizenship, education on social behavior, awareness on better opportunities at that sprouting age, and any other things that can impact the social well-being and welfare of the society, which results in greater social growth.
The A.P.’s largest Techno-Management Symposium, the NIPUNA, is a technical festival organized annually by the SRKR-ISTE in which thousands of students from several colleges across Andhra Pradesh come to participate. NIPUNA is a plethora of technical and non-technical events having their unique allure and significance, and a dedicated website will be developed every year, serving as the virtual hub for all the details incorporating all the diverse and captivating events of that year’s NIPUNA.
