About the Department

Established in 1991, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering has grown from an initial intake of 40 students into a premier academic and research hub with a current B.Tech (CSE) intake of 300. Recognized as a Research Centre by JNTU Kakinada since 2019, the department also offers an M.Tech program in Computer Science and Technology. Supported by experienced faculty, specialized laboratories, E-classrooms, and ICT-enabled infrastructure, the department provides a dynamic and student-centric learning environment.

The curriculum is aligned with global technological trends and AICTE guidelines, offering specializations in AI/ML and IoT, along with Honors and Minor programs. Strong industry collaborations with organizations such as TCS iON, Netenrich, and Bennett University enhance practical exposure and employability. The department consistently achieves excellent placement records with top salary packages. Professional bodies like ISTE and the Association of Computer Engineers (ACE) further promote technical, co-curricular, and leadership excellence among students.

At SRKR Engineering College, Bhimavaram. Since its inception in 1991, the department has evolved into one of the premier destinations for computer science education in Andhra Pradesh. With a current intake of 300 students in the B.Tech program, we are committed to providing high-quality education, fostering innovation, and preparing students for successful careers in the ever-evolving digital world. Our academic programs are designed to build strong foundations in core areas such as Programming, Data Structures, Algorithms, Database Management Systems, Computer Networks, Operating Systems, and Software Engineering, while also offering exposure to emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, IoT, and Blockchain. Supported by state-of-the-art laboratories, smart classrooms, and advanced computing facilities, we provide a vibrant learning environment that promotes creativity, problem-solving, and lifelong learning. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is one of the oldest and most prestigious departments of SRKR Engineering College, established in 1991, and has grown from an intake of 40 students to 300 students annually.

The Department is recognized as a Research Centre by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK), supporting doctoral research and advanced studies in emerging areas of computing.
