About the Department

The Department of Civil Engineering at SRKR Engineering College, established in 1980, has emerged as one of the prominent centres for civil engineering education and applied research in Andhra Pradesh, particularly in the coastal region. The department offers B.Tech. in Civil Engineering and M.Tech. in Structural Engineering programs. Its undergraduate program has received NBA accreditation four times, demonstrating sustained academic quality and excellence in technical education.

The department emphasizes innovative teaching through seminars, presentations, MOOCs, experiential learning, and expert lectures. Students receive hands-on training in industry-relevant software such as STAAD.Pro and REVIT, along with internship opportunities at reputed organizations across India. The department also excels in consultancy services and research, contributing significantly to institutional revenue, and operates a Centre of Excellence focused on sustainability, advanced materials, and water quality research.

The department was recognized as a Research Centre by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada.

The Department Materials Testing Laboratory was accredited by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL).
The department was entrusted with third-party quality control works for Bhimavaram Municipality. Department offers consultancy services to both government and private sectors.
