  • Mr. V V Murali Krishnam Raju received the Dronacharya Award at the APEC 2026 organized by the Aditya Pro-karting endurance championship on January 1, 2026.
  • Mr. V Manikanth successfully completed the AICTE-QIP Certification Programme on Drone Technology from IIIT Kurnool in December 2025.
  • Dr. G.S.V. Seshu Kumar successfully completed the AICTE-QIP Certification Programme from IIT (BHU) on December 23, 2025.
  • Dr. D. Shantanu completed the AICTE-QIP Certification Programme on AIML from IIIT Nagpur in December 2025.

Established in 1980, the Department of Mechanical Engineering has consistently evolved its curriculum, infrastructure, and research focus to align with the changing landscape of automotive, manufacturing, energy, and Industry 4.0. Four cycles of NBA accreditation affirm the department's commitment to outcome-based education and continuous quality improvement.

1980

Department of Mechanical Engineering established with B.Tech programme, intake 120.

2000s

M.Tech Thermal Engineering introduced; modernisation of workshop, CAD/CAM and CNC labs.

2010s

Recognised research centre of AU and JNTUK; multiple NBA cycles and SAE student team success.

2020s

Autonomy, EV and Industry 4.0 focus areas, robotics & additive manufacturing initiatives.
